It was so fun to work with hair-maven Rubi Jones on her rebrand. Because Rubi works with top fashion houses on runway and editorial work, with her own clients at the Little Axe Salon, and writes a blog (and book!) among other pursuits, she needed a brand that was bold enough to hold its own, but able to work flexibly among her many projects and collaborators.

Channeling Rubi’s passion for cuttting and braiding, I chopped her name into shapes, creating a logotype that feels pieced and woven. I love the ability to play with moving the letters as though they are fallen pieces, creating hidden messages within the collateral pieces. Rubi’s style is such a fantastic modern-vintage blend, and the option to rotate various textures, colors, and even motion will enable her to reflect the right feel for the project and be constantly re-invented while maintaining a recognizable brand consistency. Can’t wait until this talented lady launches her full product line!
