Rebrand and packaging design for an all-natural children’s soap company, whose goals were to move into a more upscale market while simultaneously becoming more kid-friendly. The loopy custom script logotype is soft and bubbly, reminiscent of scrawling a note on a steamed mirror. Aside from the team of characters, which were so much fun to illustrate, my favorite part is the product window “bubbles” which showcase the all-natural product. The clients were afraid that the natural formula, which is more prone to bubbles and particles that other soaps control with nasty chemicals, would be a deterrent to customers, but I encouraged them proudly flaunt their naturalness. I had an extra special collaborator on this project—my daughter Ivy aided in the illustrations and landed her first copywriting gig when she dubbed the ultra-rich hydration sample, “Cloud Cream”, which perfectly described the silky, smooth product. (The clients loved it and decided to use it!)
