Maile and Reed wanted a custom invitation for their Las Vegas (my hometown!) wedding, and having worked with this family before, I jumped at the chance. They are all so nice and fun to work with! We wanted a hint of vintage “fabulous Las Vegas” without getting too kitschy. Some deco type and a nod to vintage playing cards seemed just enough.
A cigar band wrap held all the pieces together inside the “peace” gray envelopes.
Remember the Lake Tahoe Save-the-Dates from a while back? The rest of the set has been finished and mailed. Devrin—who is a dear friend all the way from the eighth grade!—had one request which was to use purple and lime green. I have to admit I was nervous about that, but after seeing some of the floral inspirations she was incorporating into her wedding, I knew we could make something work.
We kept the silver foil (which is reading as a dull gray line in these photos but is delightfully sparkly in real life) on the laid cover stock, and one of my favorite elements was the custom pocket fold-out which took the place of an inner envelope and held all the pieces snugly in place!
It folded up and was sealed with a custom sticker which wrapped front to back, and the whole she-bang slipped into a lavender outer envelope.
I really wanted to sneak some woodsy wedding guests onto the part of the pocket which would be covered with cards, but Ryan—who was a good sport about all the pastels and polka-dots drew the line at bunnies. Fair enough. But I can still show you guys the comp?
Dev and Ryan are such a great couple and I wish them all the happiness in the world—Happy Wedding you two!
