| Happy New Year!

Happy January! (Oxymoron?) We are finally settling back into routine after the holidays, which feel like they happen in fast forward every year! At some point during December, I audibly conceded we probably wouldn’t get holiday cards out this year. This horrified our chief elf (Ivy) who immediately took matters into her own hands. When I saw the amazing illustration she had started, I de-Scrooged and got on board, though clearly she did the lion’s share of the work here:  (Please click to make it bigger.)

This is a family treasure. Its pretty hard to pick a favorite element, but Jane’s Carousel , the “Stachue” of Liberty, and the hot dog stand are high on the list.

The team decided multi-colored enclosure cards, happy face stickers, and a sprinkle of confetti were ALL necessary. Some members were very helpful with the stuffing, and some preferred to crash our piles with lego spaceships. If we somehow missed you this year, please email me your address! (Even if we are only e-friends—I love a tradition that encourages off-screen connection!) Thank you to Rolling Press, a Brooklyn-based, eco-friendly printer (my new faves!) for the speedy printing.

P.S. Last year’s scratch off cards.

Hi – I found your site in a round-a-bout way. (From Reading my tealeaves, to cup of jo to your apt tour there and then to you. The pictures of your apt – and all the ways you made it home were amazing. I wanted to move right in!
Once on your site and seeing your kids hand made christmas cards – well, i just wanted to say – whatever you are doing with your kids- it is the right thing. How creative and beautiful.
